Educational gymnastics
The Sweet Peas Educational Gymnastics curriculum helps forge the architecture of a child's brain that will serve them for a lifetime.
Educational Gymnastics
Jamie has added a new educational gymnastics program at our year-round location in Fresno this fall!
Sweet Peas is an educational gymnastics program catering to children aged six months to six years, aiming to boost physical, social, and cognitive development during critical developmental stages. By focusing on movement and sensory activities, Sweet Peas fosters neural connections that are crucial for lifelong learning.
Founded on age-appropriate gymnastics, the curriculum emphasizes balance, coordination, core strength, and more, within a collaborative setting that imparts essential life skills like self-awareness and friendship. Lessons integrate gymnastics training with cognitive tasks like color recognition and language development, while promoting listening skills and mutual support.
Sweet Peas ensures individualized learning through structured lesson plans tailored to each child's pace, making gymnastics both educational and fun!

Wee Peas
6-12 months
Carefully designed for babies learning to sit and crawl, Wee Peas provides our littlest scooters with learning activities that focus on whole baby development. Wee Peas are given opportunities to move, reach, and grasp in a baby safe environment that is rich with color, sound and tactile experiences.
Objectives of a Wee Pea class include activities that promote crossing the midline and bilateral awareness needed for crawling and walking. Wee Peas also participate in activities that promote visual tracking, core strength and balance needed for sitting and standing. Wee Peas also enjoy some of their first experiences in playing and learning with other babies and gaining social awareness with their Wee Pea friends!

One Peas are ready to move! With their newly developing upright mobility (and sometimes a mix of both eagerness and hesitation), One Peas love to explore! One Peas are beginning to understand words and ideas. The active learning goals of One Peas promote neural development. The One Pea curriculum is designed to teach self-awareness and physical adaptation through developmentally appropriate gymnastics activities such as stepping, rolling, balancing, sliding and swinging.

The One Pea curriculum is designed to strengthen the direct link between physical movement and cognitive processing. One Peas’ engage their minds while walking in circles, gliding across beams, rolling on wedge mats, bouncing on springboards, and swinging on bars. Through gymnastics, they learn to balance, maintain, stretch, grasp, and rebound. As One Peas’ transition from infancy to toddlerhood, they are rapidly learning and evolving.

The Two Pea curriculum focuses on enhancing the independence of two-year-olds by leveraging their rapidly advancing physical, cognitive, and language skills. The curriculum aids development by boosting gross motor skills with circuits, teaching running, balancing, rolling, and weight shifting, and improving social skills through interactive games.
The curriculum aims to offer a comprehensive gymnastics experience that stimulates the occipital lobes through exposure to shapes and colors, while also involving the temporal and frontal lobes to enhance cognitive processes using language and tone. By encouraging movement during learning, we aim to engage multiple brain regions for optimal learning outcomes. Our goal is to provide enjoyable gymnastics activities that support the crucial neural development of our two-year-olds.

Three Peas are enhancing their motor development, eye-hand coordination, and fine motor skills. They are also swiftly grasping language and can comprehend and follow basic instructions in gymnastics class independently. The curriculum for Three Peas focuses on skill development on the floor, bean bars, and vault. They practice forward rolls, straddle rolls, and Three Pea cartwheels. Their balance is improved through beam exercises like alternating forward kicks, squat holds, relevé walks, and beam crawls.

Three Peas are introduced to instructions that include spatial, sequential, and directional cues. They are developing an understanding of differences in color, shape, size, and color. The increasing independence of Three Peas enables them to engage in structured circuit sequences as they get ready for more autonomous activities in the Three Pea program.
